Neurodiversity Affirming Parenting
 Celebrating your Child's Unique Identity

When: Wednesday 6th March 7:30pm (online)
Presented by: Dr Belinda Cuomo (OT)

“When a flower doesn’t bloom, you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower.” – Alexander Den Heijer

Being 'neurodiversity affirming' essentially means seeing and acknowledging natural diversity in people's abilities, thinking, behaviour and how they interact with the world. But what does this actually mean for your neurodiverse child and the kind of therapy they receive; supports and adjustments at school; and for your family life?

This presentation will explore some of the key principles of neuroaffirming practice; and invite you to reflect on what this could look like for your child and family in celebrating your child's differences and coming back to the shared hopes that all families have for their children: for them to be happy; comfortable in who they are; and to find their place in the world.
